community lived in Mine Hole in the 1920s and 1930s. Leonard Cooke's
personal recollections, as written down by Audrey Lawson, describe life
in this community that bordered Sparkill Creek in Piermont. True Stories
of Mine Hole won the Lower Hudson Conference of Historical Agencies
and Museums’ Award for Excellence in 2004.
