We're finishing out our Suffrage Centennial celebration with a holiday exhibition that features fashions of the mid- to late twentieth century, as reflected through a range of dolls and dollhouses.
Displays include a sixty-year timeline (1960-2020) of dressed Mattel Barbie & Friends dolls and accessories; popular competitors that reveal sometimes complementary and sometimes controversial fashion trends; and dollhouse architecture and accessories in midcentury modern and other styles.
For dollhouse enthusiasts, this year's holiday exhibition also highlights the miniature art of Rockland's own Kathleen Brennan (smalltimedecorator on Instagram).
Please note: The Historical Society of Rockland County will be closed on Friday, December 24; Sunday, December 26; Friday, December 31; and Sunday, January 2, for the holidays. Museum admission on Sundays includes a guided tour of the 1832 Jacob Blauvelt House decorated for the holiday season. All proceeds benefit the education and preservation mission of the Historical Society of Rockland County.
